 Adolphe Pinard (1844-1934) was a renowned French obstetrician. He is the author of Garrison-Morton 6193 on abdominal palpation in obstetrics. He is also known for the 'Pinard maneuver' use in breech births. The current works fits in well with his emphasis on the importance of overall maternal care. He compares various anaesthetic regiments used in labor. An early contribution to the subjec
