Stampless Folded Letter Sheet (FLS), twice-used, turned, single sheet (similar to folded cover) with two red "FREE" franks, traveled the 111 miles from Lockport, NY to Seneca Falls, NY and then back again, with contents - 1837.

First Use: datelined "Lockport Jany. 14, 1837", cancelled by matching red "LOCKPORT JAN 15 N.Y." and "FREE" addressed to "John Morgan, Esq. Postmaster, Seneca Falls, Seneca Co. N.Y."   Sent from Woods & Morse (Attorneys), letter is requesting the christian names of the proprietors of a business in Seneca Falls - Shrathar & Hills, and if any other partners, Woods and Morse offering to pay John Morgan in kind.

Second Use: John Morgan upon receipt, saw space at the bottom of letter and wrote his response "The firm above inquired about is styled(?) E. Hills & Co., composed of Elrazer Hills of Auburn & John Shrathar of this place. I know of no other partners in the establishment, Your Ty John Morgan".    He then folded the single sheet in such a way to have a clear face to add his matching red "SENECA FALLS JAN 17 N.Y." CDS and "FREE" along with manuscript signature "John Morgan P.M."  Addressed to "Mess. Woods & Morse, Lockport, N.Y."

Fine and extremely rare twice-used folded letter sheet from stampless era, "FREE"-franked both directions.
