This Very Rare item is a 200% Authentic 1948 MICHIGAN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GOLD CHARM from an actual player on this National Championship Team. Back in 1948 the NCAA Schools did not give out Championship Rings like they do today. In the early days the schools usually would give out Championship Charms to the players instead of Rings. So this Championship Charm would be the equivalent to a Championship Ring. This Very Rare Charm was awarded to Michigan Center R.D. Farrer. This Charm was was made by the Balfour the legendary Ring company. The charm is clearly stamped 10K LGB under the players name. The condition of the charm is real good considering its 66 years old. The player must have converted the charm into a tie tack or it might have come this way from the Michigan Athletic Dept. If the new owner chooses the charm could easily be removed from the tie tac.
