VINTAGE 1950s 15" PALITOY PATSY BABY DOLL

This sweet vintage baby doll dates from around the 1950s. She has no maker's marks, but we believe her to be a Palitoy Patsy doll. Moulded into the back of her head is 'Made in England Pat. No. 535311', and moulded into the back of her body is 'Brit. Pat. 600270 Made in England Austral. 135724 S.A. 813/46 Canada 466981'. She has a hard plastic head and a soft rubber body and limbs. She has sleeping eyes (that are stiff) and moulded hair. We believe her to be a drink and wet doll as she has a hole for a bottle in her mouth, small tear duct holes next to her eyes and a small hole in her bottom. She has a voice box inside her torso that is no longer operatibe. We believe her to be wearing her original pink nappy.

Condition: Overall in fair-good condition with some wear consistent with age and use. She is overall quite grubby and has some discolouration in places. There are some manufacturing imperfections as might be expected. Her face is grubby and there is some scuffing to the paintwork of her hair. Her sleeping eyes are stiff and one eye is a little out of position. Her face has some cracking - around both eyes, to her nose and to her forehead at eitther side. Her hands are grubby and have some small holes (possible manufacturing defects. Her voice box is inoperative. Her nappy has some foxing (brown spotting) and is discoloured. The safety pins appear to be more modern replacements.
