A very nice antique violin dating to the 1910s, labelled "Copie Paolo Fiorini, Taurini, Faciebat anno 1915"
The violin is fullsize with a L.O.B of 358mm.

Many good features of workmanship can be seen on this violin such as the fluted f-holes, exceptionally well-carved scroll, edgework etc. This violin has been given a new set of custom-made fittings including luxurious capped pegs (which turn well), a French-style tailpiece and a Guarneri-model chinrest - both made of the highest quality tamarind wood and handmade specifically for me. The bridge was made and fitted by the luthier: Harry George, Blackpool. Comes with a better, more recently made bridge. The violin sounds great and plays very well.

The violin is in overally-good presentation. There are repairs to the front which are all stable and correctly done (please see the photos). There is a really well done edge graft at the lower left side of the back that is difficult to notice, that's how good it is. The ribs are intact, and so is the neck. There are scratches and small marks as expected. The violin has been cleaned recently.

Great selection of tonewood, the front is made of medium-width spruce and the back is made of a gorgeous and well-selected piece of maple, slabcut: great figuring and refracts well in the light.
