Toyo 45A II 4x5 Field Camera w/Schneider Symmar-S 210mm/5.6 Lens

The Toyo 45A 4x5 camera is one of my favorites, partly because of the rugged all-metal construction and I just like the way it feels and works. This one is in average condition, about the expected wear than what I typically see on a camera of this type and vintage. (I would rate it an 8.0 overall), it  has the revolving Graflok-style back, the bellows are brand new.

The Toyo 45A II is the latest and the current model of the 45A being sold.

The lens is a Schneider Symmar-S 210mm/5.6 lens, a 6-element/4-group Plasmat-type lens in a Copal #1 shutter, it takes 52mm filters and lens hoods, a common and inexpensive size, especially compared to larger-sized filters. 150mm is considered to be  the "normal" lens for 4x5 and is similar to a 50mm lens in 35mm, a 210 is about like a 70mm lens for 35mm. I would rate the lens at an 8.5, the glass is clear & clean, the shutter speeds sound accurate compared to other lenses I have, it just has normal wear & tear from being used.

This lens does have one noticeable piece of dust in it and a very small ding in the outer rim, neither of which are going to have any effect on the photos you produce. The lens also has some of what is commonly called "Schneideritis", which is a flaking of the flat black paint inside of the lens that is visible from the front  as white specs but has no effect on image quality as it isn't in the image path.

Two clean film holders are included, as is a new cable release for the lens, a copy of the owner's manual and a new Gator brand bag that was originally made to fit a small sound mixer board but fits a 4x5 field camera nicely.
