For sale is the legendary Leica M4 35mm Film Rangefinder Camera in Chrome body.

From the Serial Number it is confirmed that this particular M4 was made in 1970 from West Germany.

Many believe that the M4 is the true last Leica Classic Rangefinder ever made.

This M4 is in User Condition which sees the usual signs of usage.  These include some missing parts of the leather from the body.  There are marks and very tiny dents on the top plate.

Apart from these "Characteristic Characters" the M4 is in Excellent working order.  The wind and rewinding action is smooth.  The shutter is having the distinctive sound and quiet action from Leica standard.

The shutter curtain is in excellent condition with no faults or leak.  The quick-loading is an excellent new feature and works a treat.

The film pressing plane is clean and dirts and rust free.

The viewfinder is clean accurate and the framelines are clear and accurate.

I am selling the M4 as I am going digital with Leica M9 (bought last week) as well.  I also have a M5 which is given to me by my uncle and I intent to keep it so reluctantly the M4 has to go.

Pictures shown are of the actual M4 and pictures taken by the M4 with Leica SUMMITAR 5cm/f2 and Expired Kodak TMAX 400.  I must say I have used various adaptors to allow me to use Nikon and Canon lenses and it was fun though I have to use guess focusing just like the old days.

Please be reminded that I am only selling the M4 body and other items are illustration only.

Price reduced as fund is needed for home improvement.

Also the missing leather has been repaired by a professional.  Same period leather from a donor camera has been used to match the age though slightly thinner it looks much better now.

I have also found the original unfilled Grantee which matches the Serial Number.
