This is a very Old Ashanti stool from a royal house in the Ashanti region of Ghana, a village called(Foon-Ase ) meaning under the dead. The stool is for female(queen mother) and she sits on during her enstoolment as the queen mother(inauguration)and that is her symbol of her rule over her people. The village is called (Foon-Ase) is, because the dead always protects the living. This stool has so much history. some wear and tear due to old age, usage, and Museum quality.
