We always suggest that all mounting grommets be replaced to protect your rare and valuable covers and their mounting tabs, it is recommended that you put a lite coat of a clear non drying grease (super lube) on all grommets, as plastics get old they often become brittle so extra care should be taken each time you remove and replace your side covers... the super lube really helps,
