Powys and Miller were long-time acquaintances. See attached photo where Miller writes in his book The Books in My Life on page 135 on how he is reading Powys’ Autobiography and quotes from it on the next few pages.

 

Book is in Good condition: general wear, pages beginning to brown, foxing to endpapers, solid binding.  Covers have general wear, also, with a few stains, spine has some minor fraying. 

 

Dust Jacket is in Good condition: (note: an American edition dj) general wear, frayed along the edges, not price clipped, placed in a BroDart protected cover.
