the jnr class ed75 originated in the early 1960s, conceived to replace the variety of early electrics which the serviced the secondary routes......302 ed75s were built between 1963 and 1975 by hitachi, mitsubishi, and toshiba..........the ed75s proved so invaluable in their service assignments that class retirement only occurred circa 2015.....

Micro Ace is one of the dominant triumvirate of n scale manufactures in Japan - Kato and Tomix both being better known outside of Japan....Micro Ace clearly markets the broadest line of locomotives and freight cars among the 3 and arguably features the finest detail work on their products......

i acquired this set from a small brick and mortar shop in japan; in this tandem, both locomotives are motorized.........they comprise a smooth running tandem, just as they were employed in freight operations on jnr main and secondary routes......the units operate at n scale running speed set at 50% on the rheostat, typical of micro ace electrics, and both locomotives mirror each other in rheostat performance - perfect for tandem operation ......the detail work on the cab roofs is realistic.....the headlamps on both locomotives are comparatively bright, considering the inherent design...........when i first surveyed this duo upon receipt, my instinctive reaction was the set's probable lack of utliization and probable role as a display set only.......the only accessories for this microace offering are a headmark for each locomotive.......the new owner will have to intuit assembly location and procedure, as microace provides only the most rudimentary sketch to serve as instructions.....
