LARS SYBERG 10.5 INCH DANISH STUDIO POTTERY FRUIT BOWL

Every kitchen needs a fruit bowl!
This striking collectible bowl is hand-decorated with a floral garden design.
The pastel flowers are artistically hand painted against a gray-white background.
Each art pottery bowl has different flowers painted on it, each piece is unique!
A bold, vibrant shade of blue is used as the accent color in this medium-sized glazed bowl.
There are circular bands of dark blue that "pop" with contrast against the white
background on the inside of the bowl!
All these factors together create the signature Lars Syberg look!
In great mid century condition! It has never been on display, so it is like new.
It's been tightly wrapped in the original Danish light brown shipping paper
for all these years and NEVER USED!
There are no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs.

This art pottery collectible was made around the 1940's or 1950's.

ON THE BACKSIDE, IT IS SIGNED LARS SYBERG
MADE IN DENMARK
AND THE PINWHEEL POTTERY MARK

HISTORY:
The Lars Syberg Pottery was a family business located in Denmark and founded by Hans Syberg.
Both Hans Syberg, who started the business in 1928, and his brother Lars Syberg,
who joined in 1931, were inspired by their mother Anna Syberg's watercolors of flowers and plants.
During my research, I discovered that several well-know Danish ceramists and designers
have been involved with Syberg Keramik over the years! Hendrik Ditlev Larsen,
known simply as Ditlev, worked at the Lars Syberg pottery. There he met the famous Bjørn Wiinblad,
who was known to have designed and decorated some of his pieces at the pottery in the 1940's.
Lars Syberg Pottery was in operation from 1928 to 1988.
