Here is how I grade/rate my cards (to be used along with photos and your personal judgment):

NEAR MINT (NM): A beautiful card with only very minor edge dings or scratches.

EXCELLENT (EX): A beautiful card. Very light edge wear or very light scratching or other very light imperfections. No creasing or dents.

GREAT (GR): A wonderful card overall, may exhibit light edge wear/scratching/very minor crease to the card or other light imperfections. No major creases or damage.

VERY GOOD (VG): A card with obvious wear to it, may have minor creasing but lacking major creases or other major damage.

FAIR (FA): A card that is has significant wear and/or  creasing.

ROUGH: A card that has severe wear and/or damage.
