Seiko 5 6119-7400 Vintage 1970s watch - Excellent Condition

Lovely super-rare 1971 Seiko 5 in fantastic condition, if you look up "1970s" in the dictionary it just has a picture of this watch. This has a silver textured dial that catches the light and orange hour markers. It comes on it's original shark mesh strap with unusual Seiko clasp, fully adjustable and thoroughly cleaned. Case size 40.5x40mm

Case has been lightly refinished and is in fantastic condition with very little visible wear, just a few hairline marks in the brushed top and polished sides. Small ding to the edge at about 10:00. Crystal is brand new acrylic and is flawless. Dial is absolutely perfect and very beautiful. Hands are excellent, with just a tiny amount of age to the silver. Quickset day / date changes smoothly.

The watch starts ticking with a few swirls and has kept good time over the last 24 hours but I have not tested it for accuracy. It has all its gaskets but as this is a vintage watch I would exercise extreme caution with regards to water resistance.

Vintage watches require servicing from time to time. I don't know when this watch was last serviced and while vintage Seikos often happily run for decades, it may also require attention well before then. If you are not happy with that it may be better to buy new - I am not a watchmaker and while I have tried to describe it as faithfully as possible, the watch is sold as seen with no guarantees.
