This is a beautiful stainless steel mullen mouth bit in outstanding pre-owned condition with Sterling Silver overlay loose jaw shanks made by Norm and Chet Vogt. This is determined by the Star Vogt mark which was used by Vogt Silversmiths from 1971 to 1989 when Chet and Norm Vogt were running the business. The close up photos show the makers mark which is a Star and the word "Vogt" This is a very well made bit with a 5/16" diameter x 5 inch mullen mouthpiece with copper inlaid on the back side of the bit for taste and salivationn. The total shank length is 6-3/4 inches and the purchase is 2-5/8 inches and weighs in at a lightweight 11.64 ounces. The light weight of this bit, combined with the shorter shanks and mullen mouthpiece make this an outstanding choice for a horse's transition to the shanked bit. This stunning bit will make a great addition to your show bit collection and will look great in any show ring setting.
