Connecting your hose to the vent-panel
The way in which you connect your air conditioner hose to your vent-panel will depend on what fittings you have and how easily you want to be able to connect/disconnect it from the panel. There are five options:
1) Pass your hose through the hole in the panel (fifth - least best option as fiddly and untidy but cheap)
Just pass your hose through a hole of the right size and do whatever you need to do to seal the gap. Standard size holes are 4"/100mm, 5"/125mm and 6"/150mm but custom hole sizes can be cut - just select that hole size option and provide details of what you want.
2) Third-party supplied spigots and connectors (fourth)
You buy separately the appropriate size of wall spigot and connector and specify the relevant size of vent panel hole, Links to these fittings on eBay are provided in this listing (below). We advise that buyers consider purchasing the female connector first to ensure that it will fit onto their air conditioner hose (hose sizes can be non-standard) before placing their vent-panel order.
You may want to include 20mm nylon bolts and/or 1m of 1mm x 10mm single sided foam tape with your order to provide a good seal when you fix the wall plate to your vent-panel but also allow it to be removed so the panel will store flat.
We can drill the bolt holes for the wall-flange but will need you to supply some dimensions to be certain we get them in the right place.
3) Wall outlet/flange (best option if you have been supplied with one)
If your air conditioner has come with a wall outlet or flange that can be attached that to the vent-panel that provides the least expensive and most effective way of connecting the hose to a vent-panel. There are a number of different sizes of wall-flange and you will need to provide the external diameter of the pipe, the number of bolt-holes around the flange and their diameter so we can be sure to cut the right sized hole. If it is not a standard size you will need to order a panel with a custom hole and should you order a set of bolts to hold the flange in place, we can drill the bolt-holes in the vent-panel for you.
4) Modified user-supplied slider (second best if you have been supplied with one)
If your air conditioner has come with a window slider (a long plastic panel with a large hole in it) you can send it to us so it can be modified to fit onto your vent-panel and provide an airtight connection.
You may also have a hose end or fishtail adapter but no slider, in which case you may be able to buy a slider and have it sent straight to us for modification. The address to which you will need to send your slider will be provided after you have placed your order.
5) Custom adapter (third best option)
There are a number of hose ends or fishtails for which connectors are not available and for these we are able, subject to detailed specifications, to provide a custom adaptor - just select that item from the Vent-panel size dropdown.
