Welcome to Antiques & Moore!

This listing is for a nice 19th Century framed miniature watercolor portrait painting on paper thin wafer of a beautiful young woman with a red scarf in her hair. Painting is signed with an unidentified signature in the background to the right of the figure (facing). Figure is wearing a beautifully painted red paisley type scarf covering the back of her brown hair with ringlet curls around her face with fine details. Painting is framed with a protected glass cover surrounded with a brass bezel mounted in the circular concave area of the square wooden frame. Frame has a medium-dark finish.

The frame measures 5 1/2" long, 5 3/8" wide and square is 5/8" deep. Site measures 2 1/2" in diameter. Weighs 5.7 ounces.

This lovely portrait is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws,, however, the wooden frame reflects minor signs of wear including a scuffed area on bottom left corner (facing). The paper backing has been removed at one time, however, it is intact. There is no ring attached for hanging although this is an easy attachment, if desired, or the frame can be displayed with a small photo easel.
