Regarding BSP Threads: Please note that the BSP measurements are NOT the physical measurement of the thread diameter of the fitting. For example a 1/8" BSPT Male thread would actually measure 9.5mm.This is the nominal diameter of the pipe.
Nominal diameter refers to the standard diameter of vessels, pipes and their accessories. Nominal diameter is helpful to realize the standardization of parts, to design, manufacture, maintenance and management, and to reduce manufacturing costs. The nominal diameter of a pipe is a size smaller than the outer diameter and larger than the inner diameter. It is related to the wall thickness of the pipeline.
