    The Hubei Province produces turquoise in colors reminiscent of the now closed mines in Nevada. The turquoise ranges in color from sky blue to spring green as well. Today there are no known producing mines.
     
    Due to a few reasons, Chinese Turquoise will soon become scarce in America. China has closed off most of its mines to the people and owns the rights to their Turquoise. The second reason that it will become hard to get Chinese Turquoise is the fact that the Chinese themselves have taken a major liking to Turquoise in the last few years. The Chinese market has been keeping all the Turquoise that they can get their hands on.

    Because Turquoise is porous in its natural state, most stones are stabilized. This hardens it & makes the natural color permanent...it's a good thing!
