Sadly this popular item is no longer being made and will soon be a deleted item.  It has been one of the longest selling items here in my shop.

It was a bit lucky my stocks were low, and I ordered before they vanished... I bought all the remaining stock at a slightly job-lot lower price.   I can see why it is being deleted... the price has just gone into warp-drive... crazy, well over double the last lot I bought just 12 months ago... but, since there are no more, I bought them.

So, sorry about the price... but it was, I'm sure, the reason for the demise. ... AND Lucas don't put the bulb in... I do that!!  Currently you have four colour choices.

THE LISTING IS FOR ONE … ONE OLD-SCHOOL GENUINE NOS LUCAS FILAMENT WARNING LIGHT

THERE ARE FOUR COLOUR-LENSES TO CHOOSE FROM… 2023...soon colours will start to be removed from the range

simply order the number you require by changing the number in small box from 1 to (eg) 4, and tell me your colour requirements in an ebay message. Ebay does not allow auto-selection fields in this vintage-parts category (???)

Genuine Lucas in boxes.

A VERY NEAT AUTHENTIC 2 watt UNIT, BUY ONE OR ALL FOUR COLOURS; THESE ARE GENUINE FILAMENT VINTAGE WARNING LIGHTS FROM LUCAS , NOT MODERN LED ONES.  That metal ring that sits round the outside framing the light is polished metal… yes … metal… not painted plastic. 12 volt (see below 6 volt)

DASH LIGHT SIZE

The hole to fit is half inch. it is a push in fit so it must be half inch... no metric stuff.

In the event you want to drill to a half inch hole i recommend a stepper bit working up... other bits and holesaws tend to make a mess. It MUST be imperial with special care required as you arrive at the half inch step. If you decide to use a hole saw, then buy from USA. Never buy imperial anything from here or UK as they cannot be trusted to be real imperial.

The chrome bezel is 16.1mm, but that is irrelevant really as the fitting hole must be imperial half inch

As a filament light, they have "proper" light, not that directional weak light LEDs have, plus they illuminate the lens, once again LEDs can't do that... and I have done a daylight photo for you… anyway LEDs don't belong in a 1960 car, now, do they?

SEE HOW THEY PULL APART IN ONE PHOTO, THE 2 WATT BA7S GLOBE IS A SEMI-BAYONET TYPE FIT. THEY HAVE PROPER FULL-SIZE SPADE FITTINGS FOR BOTH POS AND NEG. THE WHOLE UNIT FITS INTO A HALF INCH HOLE (note half inch not a metric drill or hole-saw) AND HOLDS ITSELF THERE BY A BULBOUS BODY PRESSURE. THE BLACK BODY IS HIDDEN, ONLY THE LENS AND CHROME RING IS VISIBLE... VERY NEAT... VERY ORIGINAL... VERY LUCAS..

ideas... THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE MOUNTED DIRECTLY INTO THE DASH, WHY NOT USE A PIECE OF ALUMINIUM ETC AND SET THEM INTO THAT FOR GREAT EFFECT...   perhaps paint the aluminium black to get the metal ring to give best contrast

or... DO A SET-UP IN ALUMINIUM-SHEET ON THE TOP OF THE SIDE PILLAR FOR TEMP (blue or green), IGN(red) AND OIL (Amber) IN PARALLEL WITH THE OTHERS IN YOUR DASH... WHY TAKE THE RISK? I HAVE SET UP LIGHTS AND GAUGES ON THE TOP OF THE SIDE PILLAR AND WITH CAREFUL PLACEMENT THEY REALLY CATCH YOUR EYE... AFTER ALL, YOU DON'T GET LONG IF THE TEMP LIGHT COMES ON, EVEN LESS WITH THE OIL, AND THE IGN CAN BE "30 SECONDS DEADLY" TOO (Ign... far from being "benign" can easily be the WORST of the three!!! It can indicate an immediate fanbelt break... which means water pump stops... which means no flow, which means an overheat in the combustion chamber/head without the temp gauge even knowing !!!! (had it happen... and in about thirty seconds the pistons go "red hot" and the car jumps around... by the time you THEN realise... too late head warped...)

PS...I'm happy to report... my red light came on, I started thinking about it... the car started to miss... but I had already stopped... A WIN FOR THE $10 LIGHT... A LOSE FOR THE $5,000 RECONDITIONER)

Or two green for indicators... or two amber for indicators... very neat little units... and nice old-school finish

THE COIN IS FIVE CENTS FOR SCALE.

THE TWO BODY PARTS ARE A PRESSURE-SLIDE. TYPICAL LUCAS QUALITY. hold the spades, hold the chrome ring...pull and twist, bit of a knack to it, but easy.

Spares later… THE 12v BA7S GLOBES ARE AVAILABLE FOR  $2.50 EACH....  6volt more expensive... 6 volt, use just this word in the ebay search box JIM282 and it will take you straight to the 6volt item

YOU GET ONE FREE 12v GLOBE WITH EACH UNIT (lucas doesn't supply the light-unit with a globe, but I do).

Overseas.  sorry, currently with covid, the cheap way has been removed by australia post. only the tracked 500g parcel is allowed... and even then, not to all countries
