WHITE SD84 DASH SWITCH, BLACK AVAILABLE SEPARATELY.

This is a special buy, limited numbers. This price is way below the individual price i had in 2021 of nearly $300.

I also give you free ... my extensive notes on these and how to use them... how they fit in with early "special circuit" cars... and also how to set up both flashing lights AND trafficators off the same switch (ie this sd84).... no silly double-switches...

If you use this switch with a trafficator-only early-wired car, you MAY find the car still uses the "early" special sd84 circuit.  This early setup uses a peculiar property of this trafficator-inductor/resistance circuit... it is extremely unlikely any auto-electrician knows it now as it hasn't been used for over 60 years....  The early cars will be "expecting" to see a very especially-linked type of SD84.  As I said,  I call these two quite different SD84 switches  "early" and "late".  The late switch (of which this is one) is far more versatile.  HOWEVER, you cannot just plug it into an early car without some understanding of what is going on. It will simply not work.  This early setup and the special early-sd84 really is a peculiar and interesting phenomenom... and I detail it carefully with pictures and diagrams in the written text.

Due to issues with certain buyers, all overseas despatches are now express courier only... There will be no discussion whatsoever on cheaper rates for overseas....

This listing is for an SD84 switch....  with extensive free notes on early sd84 radical differences, how to setup dual flash/trafficator off one switch... flash-cans and diodes... and much more.

OK... this switch... A pre-amble...  My supplier has, for some time been selling this Lucas retro-make SD84.  As I have now mostly run out of "old" switches, I have decided to look at these.  I have handled and dismantled and repaired hundreds of these switches over the years... and these new ones are pretty damn good.  It is a faithful reproduction to the tiniest detail...  and the feel of them is probably better than the old ones... I have clicked SD84s literally thousands and thousands of times over the years, so I know what I'm saying.... you know... I gotta say, I am rather impressed !!

The gasket is there as are the fixing bolts.

They are relatively expensive, but then... like the later Lucas-only stalk switches I keep... the Lucas re-make is just streets ahead of any generic efforts.

OK, with this congratulatory pre-amble over with, let's proceed...

This switch is what I call "late".  It is suited to both trafficator-only and dual trafficator/flasher... or even any flasher circuit you wish to switch.  However, if you fit it to a trafficator-only car, it is best if you know how the original "early " sd84 is different.

The notes I give you also cover the use and fiddling about with 2 and 3 pin flasher-cans... how to use 10 cent diodes to solve problems that they couldn't do back then... and also how to set up trafficators and flashers off the one switch... plus how to turn the trafficators off if you want... (eg for freeway driving... or for "passenger syndrome" .

So... included free is all the guff and diagrams on this, so you can understand how this very peculiar early circuit works... and can then modify it so this "later" switch can be used....and  the dual-circuit info for wiring both flashers and traffs off the one switch, etc etc etc.

By the way, this information is listed separately if you want just that at $30.

To look for items in my shop, it is easiest to look in the (sometimes yellow) box of "shop categories".   Select the category of interest and all items in that category will appear.  It is much easier than keywords.  Alternatively, if it is not showing, then right next to “visit store” at the top right (NOT “see other items” !!!) is the link/word “jimmytheparrot1” … just click that and the categories will be listed on the page. If you’re using Ebay’s useless mobile app, I have no idea… this app is a real shocker/compromise in quality and half the stuff is missing.

SHOP-category examples "BRAKE"   or   "TRAFFICATOR parts"   or "LIGHTS"   or   "AXLES"   or   "COOLING"  etc etc
