Old /antique Indian Tribal silver pendant. Amulet. Rajasthan. Fine silver.

Description:

This is a Old Silver Tribal pendant.

The pendant was originally made and worn by the tribal gypsy people of Rajasthan in Northern India. It features a figure called Baba Ramdi on his horse. Baba Ramdi is a local folklore hero who singled-handedly saved his village from an army of bandits, and so his image is worn as a strong protection amulet.I bought the pendant in Rajastan myself. It is 60-150 years old, and is extremely pure fine silver with 98% purity. (Sterling silver is 92.5%).
The hoop at the top is 7.2 mm internally, which is easily big enough for the clasp of a silver chain to pass through it.

The pendant is 3.5 cm acoss and 5 cm high.

I will send the pendant on a length of very strong black cotton cord, tied into an adjustable length slip knot.

I have been making my living exclusively from designing and  making jewellery for 9 years. I travel every year to seek out old and tribal silver from Asia and India along with semi-precious stones. Back at home in Brighton, England,  I make these loose pieces up into beautiful and unusal jewellery.

Every item will be send beautifully packaged in a cotton gift bag made especially for me by a women's self help group in India.
