DESCRIPTION

Disbound, missing front and rear boards.

Anonymously published, this work was written by Philip Francis. Born in 1710, in Ireland, Francis was a politician and pamphleteer. A member of the Whig pamphlet. Somewhat of a literary celebrity of his time, he was well known for his translations of the work of Horace.

Collated, missing the half title page.


CONDITION

Disbound, missing the front and rear boards. Externally sound. Front and rear pages are agetoned. Small tidemark to the front page. Small tear to the front page. Spotting to the front and rear pages. Internally, generally firmly bound. Ink stain to page III, to the head. Small tear to the tail of page iii. Small tear to the tail of page IX, with a small crease also to the tail of the page. Small tidemark to the head of page XIX, and XX. Small to the the head of pages XXI and XXII.
