DESCRIPTION

Including chapters on some of the major landmarks, such as Prior Park as well as many personalities connected with the city including writers (such as Jane Austen and Sheridan) and members of the Royal Family.

Bath was granted its city status by Queen Elizabeth in 1890, but it's history goes back much further. Archaeologists believe that the original site of the city contained a spring that the Celts considered a sacred shrine. This was dedicated to the Goddess, Sulis. The Romans identified this Goddess with their own, Minerva but the name endured and the city became Aquae Sulis.

This volume is in French.
