William Harrison Ainsworth was an English historical novelist born in Manchester. He was very popular in his lifetime and his novels sold in large numbers. He is described by S. M. Ellis as "One of the most picturesque personalities of the nineteenth century."

Complete in three volumes.


CONDITION

Rebound in half calf bindings with marbled boards, and gilt lettering to the spines. Externally, light rubbing with wear to extremities. Ink stamps to title pages. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with intermittent spotting and occasional tide marks to plates.
