This framed Old large type 50 pence piece was minted 43 years ago in 1973.

It represents the UK joining what was then the EEC, which later became the EU, The two coins depict the nine hands of all the EU members at that time, we were the ninth member to join.

We are now the first ever  member to leave the EU which now consists of 27 members,

These coins can only increase in value as time goes on, they are a part of history.

It's a nice keepsake or  an in-expensive interesting present, maybe also if you were born in 1973.

These coins are no longer in circulation.
