This Buy It Now sale is for a TEAC VRDS Laser sled gear AND a Teac VRDS tray idler gear.

position. The photos show the inside a TEAC VRDS T-1 that I recently fixed using these
gears ...the result, one perfectly running mechanism. These gears fit exactly as they should, running smoothly and quietly - I have fitted a number of these and found them to perform perfectly - as have those who have purchased them...
There are two gears known to yellow with age, then crack & crumble on various Teac VRDS players, This sale is both of them, so that you can get both jobs done at once & save on postage costs too.
The one gear is responsible for driving the laser sled back & forth.
The other gear is responsible for the opening and closing of the CD loading tray
These are a quality replacement items from the manufacturer, made from the
correct
materials, to the correct specification ! These are the genuine gears you need to repair your expensive Wadia \Copland etc CD player, as opposed
to some 3D printed effort of questionable quality or a metal "long life"
equivalent offering.
...Metal gears & plastic gears should not be mixed, as a metal gear
meshed with any plastic gear will wear out the plastic gear it is meshed
with prematurely -you never see such an arrangement in any player!
This gears are brand
new, original & unused, the plastic used to manufacture these gears
has been improved over those that were made 20 years ago, so they will
no longer become
brittle & crumble like those that now need replacing.

used in these machines : (please varify that your player uses BOTH of these gears BEFORE purchase - as I believe some only use the draw gear !)

As
you can see from the photos below, the laser gear is underneath a black cover, it is the middle one of three gears, located between the small motor pinion
gear & another gear to its other side that is then meshed with the straight laser rack. If the original one is still fitted, it will have yellowed with age as shown & has
probably crumbled & failed, or is about to.
