William Makepeace Thackeray is best known for his satirical works looking at English society, most especially for 'Vanity Fair'. He tended to be quite savage in his attacks on society, publishing under various pseudonyms in his youth to avoid personal criticism.


CONDITION

In a full calf binding. Externally, smart. A little fading to the spines. Minor discolouration and a couple of light marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Ribbon markers of Volumes I, II, III, VI, VII, VIII, IX, XI, XII, XIV, XVI, XVII, XX, XXI, XXII, XXIII, XXIV are detached but present. Ribbon markers of Volumes IV, V, X, XIII, XV, XVIII, XIX, are in-tact.
