Copiously illustrated throughout with black and white in-text illustrations, and collated complete with seven plates (each with a protective tissue guard).

With contemporary author's advertisements to the rear of the text.

Featuring the following ink inscription by the author to the front free-endpaper:

1902'.

Agnes Maxwell-Lyte was the oldest daughter of Sir Henry Churchill Maxwell Lyte; the renowned English historian and archivist who served as Deputy Keeper of the Public Records from 1886 to 1926.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original cloth binding with gilt title to spine. Externally excellent, with slight bumping to extremities and the odd small faint mark to boards. Bumping to head and tail of spine resulting in small splits to cloth. Author's ink inscription to front free-endpaper, dated '1902'. Internally firmly bound. Pages slightly age toned to extremities but very bright and clean, with only the odd light spot and handling mark to the occasional page.

Overall Condition: Very Good Indeed
