Fitted with Pratt & Whitney Canada PW 120 engines rated at 2,000 shp each, the ATR42-300 has become a work-horse of regional operators big and small and has the lowest operating costs of any aircraft in its size category.
It is remarkably simple to operate and to maintain and is equipped with efficient, low-fuel-burn engines. Its operating costs are 15% lower than those of its competitor.
Thanks to lower ownership costs, the used ATR 42 have become affordable to smaller carriers, airlines with limited investment capabilities or airlines operating in low-yield markets, thus significantly increasing the number of ATR operators and opening new markets.
