DESCRIPTION

The Royal College of Physicians received the royal charter in 1518 from King Henry VIII, affirmed by Act of Parliament in 1523. It was the first medical institution in England to become a Royal College.

A second edition, revised and enlarge. A reprint of the 1878 edition.

Complete in five volumes.

Includes biographical sketches of all the eminent physicians, whose names are recorded in the annals from the foundation of the college in 1518 to its removal in 1825, from Warwick Lane to Pall Mall East.


CONDITION

In full cloth binding with gilt armorial decoration to the front of each volume. Externally, lovely condition with only some minor rubbing to the boards. Internally, firmly bound and all very bright and clean.
