Antique Victorian 15ct Gold Sapphire & Diamond Brooch c1900

A stunning Victorian 15ct Gold Sapphire & Diamond Brooch c1900, which has as it's focal point a beautiful oval Cornflower Blue Ceylon Sapphire (approx' 3.0mm by 2.5mm) flanked to each side by a Rose-cut Diamond and another Sapphire set in a Diagonal Scroll Mount set over two Gold Bars with Rope Twist Detail to the centre (please see the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of the item's description).

This wonderful Brooch, which weighs 3.1 grams, is approx' 4.2cms long and approx' 9.0mm high. Typical of the Period the Brooch is stamped '15ct' on the reverse, as shown, confirming that it is made from solid 15ct Gold i.e it is not gold plated.

Overall this fine quality Brooch is in great condition - the Sapphires are superb with no chips or abrasion and there is only light surface scratches to the Gold commensurate with age, as shown. It comes complete & ready to wear with a Safety Chain, which has been added for additional security in addition to it's original 'C' clasp and hinge and a good pin - although I suspect it has been replaced at some point historically.

In summary, this is a stunning Victorian 15ct Gold Sapphire & Diamond Brooch c1900 - it is quite simply sublime.
