Description
Offered today is a high quality antique, early 1900s Art Deco era solid 14k yellow gold diamond and cornflower blue sapphire filigree bar pin. It's a nice size to be noticed (2 3/8" long) and it's stamped with a designer mark I couldn't identify (a W inside the head of a flower with leaves).
This pin has been immaculately preserved, and it's in mint condition. A fiery diamond (.07 ct) is set in the center, with one .08 ct natural blue sapphire set on each end--in square heads. The "filigree" is a strong decorative Deco pattern, rather than the more lacy, delicate filigree often seen in jewelry form this era. Total gem weight is approximately .25 ctw.
The pin measures 2 3/8" by by 3/16". It closes with an early-style locking clasp, on which the 14K and the above mentioned maker's mark appear. The pin weighs 4 grams, and it's in excellent vintage condition.
