Victorian 18ct Gold Ruby & Diamond Ring c1899
UK Ring Size 'L 1/2', or US Ring Size '6'

A stunning Victorian 18ct Gold Ruby & Diamond Six Stone Ring dating to 1899, which is vertically set with two Old-cut Diamonds to the centre flanked to either side by a beautiful Pigeon Blood Cushion Shaped Ruby (approx' 4.0mm by 3.5mm) & another Diamond - Total Diamond Weight approx' 0.12cts (please see the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of the item's description).

This wonderful Antique Ring, which weighs 4.0 grams, has a Tapered Shank with Decorated Shoulders leading to the fabulous Gem set Gallery. As shown, it is stamped with a British Hallmark confirming that it is made from solid 18ct Gold and that it was assayed in Chester in 1899.

This fine quality ring measures approx' 6.0mm wide across the Ruby & Diamond set Gallery tapering to approx' 1.7mm at the back for the wearer's comfort. It is sized as a UK Ring Size 'L 1/2', which equates to a US Ring Size '6' - as with almost all antique rings the band is slightly ovalised i.e it is not perfectly round and it measures slightly differently on the gauge depending on how it is positioned, however this will not affect the ring when worn.

Overall the ring is in good condition with wear commensurate with age, as shown. The Diamonds sparkle beautifully and the Natural Rubies have good colour & saturation. On close inspection there is some porosity in the Gold (tiny air bubbles when the ring was cast) and the ring has been re-sized historically, but this is reflected in the price of this beautiful & very wearable Victorian Ruby & Diamond.

In summary, this is a stunning Victorian 18ct Gold Ruby & Diamond Ring dating to 1899 - it is quite simply sublime.
