TRUE COLORS, REAL ELEGANCE

Suzuka-sumi is the only Japanese sumi ink stick designated as Japanese Traditional Craft by the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry and is produced by the only active master craftsman honored with the title Suzuka-sumi traditional craftsman. These hand-formed sumi ink sticks takes three to five years to prepare before going on the market. Despite being produced at same sizes, each individual sumi ink stick is alive; as time passes, water evaporates and each sumi ink stick develops into its own unique size. Suzuka-sumi is produced in Suzuka, Mie Prefecture, where it is abundant with quality pine and excellent water source needed for production of the sumi ink sticks. The value of Suzuka-sumi ink sticks is strikingly obvious once it is ground into ink form. It is elegant and the colors are deep. The drawn lines and slight ink bleed around it is seamless and perfect. Take a look at the zenith of sumi ink stick craftsmanship for yourself --truly breathtaking.
