1974-78 Mustang II / 1974-80 Pinto to GM Pump Power Steering Hose Kit
When you have that used/salvage yard/donor OEM 1974-78 Mustang II / 1974-78 Pinto power rack, it is common to use an early GM power steering pump with an OEM 1974-78 Mustang II / 1974-80 Pinto power rack & pinion. This GM pump to OEM Mustang II/Pinto rack & pinion power steering hose assembly is an inexpensive alternative to the more costly stainless steel braided hose kits.
Note: This hose kit is (NOT) applicable to the Ford Thunderbird style reproduction steering racks that are sourced or provided by Speedway Motors for the Mustang II front end application. If you have sourced or obtained your Thunderbird style Mustang II rack & pinion for your Mustang II front end build from Speedway Motors, this hose kit is (NOT) applicable and should not be purchased. For that application, please consider hose kit #s or when utilizing the Speedway Motors sourced Ford Thunderbird style reproduction rack & pinion for your Mustang II front end set up.
This hose kit will work with the suggested power steering pump 910-32908-BLK. When using an early GM pump with your OEM 1974-78 Mustang II/ 1974-80 Pinto power rack, you will also need flow reducer valve . This valve reduces the fluid flow from three gallons-per-minute to two gallons-per-minute, which cures problems of twitchy steering when these components are used together.
