Our IF8C-X's core design is based on Oxford-912, which combines a 32bit RISC processor, an operational block coprocessor and high performance buffer management. The FIFO has a RAM bandwidth of 1600Mbps. It stores 1394 packets passing them to appropriate destinations without processor intervention and with ORB coprocessor managing the sequence for ORB fetching, reduced latency and improved data throughput resulting in the support of more than 88MB/sec data rates. DATOptic's IF8C-R can be direct plug-in to TWO new or existing ATA-133 HDD drives and convert them into a single HDD with double transfer data speed, perfect for video editing. Or connect TWO DVD-Rs and burn DVDs at 16x speed at the same time with our IF8C-912 converter. With our Brand New Dual Drive Internal FireWire 800 Converter, system CPU will experience less interrupt request being sent from using/accessing ATA/ATAPI devices, therefore computer system can run better, smoother, and a lot more efficiently.
