This metal cover protects the free play lever on the front of the Motor Drive Coin Register Mechanism (coin grinder) used in Wurlitzer models 1015 and 1080.

It is not given a separate part number in Figure 5 shown on page 6 of the 1015 Parts Catalog.
Two of my photos show it mounted on the Moto Drive (coin grinder).
