Hibiscus syriacus (The rose of Sharon) Double Pale Pink x 1 plant

50 mm tube. Around 15 cm tall. Dormant in winter- see last photo. Please, DO NOT expect vibrant leaves' colour in autumn, leaves will be yellow, damaged and etc, as plant is going into dormant stage!!!

"Hibiscus syriacus is an open and vase shaped deciduous shrub with arching branches.

The leaves vary in shape from slightly rhomboid to variably lobed, in autumn these turn a dull yellow colour before falling. From late spring through to autumn it produces large (10cms) trumpet-shaped flowers that vary in colour (pink, crimson, white or violet-blue) with a deep red centre and form (singles, semis and doubles). Although the blooms only last for one day, it flowers profusely and makes for a good background shrub as part of a border or as a semi-deciduous hedge or feature. It prefers full sun and will tolerate anything from the harsh western sun to part shade. This is a low maintenance plant, once established it will tolerate frost, mild drought, pollution and neglect. Probably the easiest way to get some tropical feel into almost any garden. Also, one of the easiest plants to grow and propagate.

Soil: Prefers well drained fertile soils but will adapt to just about any soils that are moderately drained. It will tolerate poor soils with low fertility.

Maintenance: It likes to be pruned back quite heavily in spring when it has a short sleep. Cut back by at least a third and remove any old growth. Generous dressings of slow release, balanced fertiliser in spring and early summer.

Diseases: Hibiscus beetle, metallic flea beetle, Slugs Snails.” Author: Bob Saunders.
