 Tack Brand New Horse Tom Thumb copper mouth snaffle shank bit, 25-5870 This is a brand new tom thumb style 4 3/4" bit. This bit is from Weaver Leather, so you know it's top quality! This is the right bit for the horse that's ready to move from a snaffle mouth bit, to a bit with a shank. This mouthpiece fits the average size horse, from a quarter horse to a paint horse. This bit is for a soft mouth horse that needs just a little more than a snaffle bit, but doesn't need a lot of correction. This is a great trail bit, or for a young show horse that's not yet ready for a full curb shank bit. The bit has a 4 3/4" mouthpiece with 6" cheeks and is nickel plated. The copper mouth is tastier to the horse, making them salivate more, so the bit is softer in their mouths. The mouthpiece is 4 3/4" copper, and the shanks are 6" cheeks. This is the ideal size for an Arabian horse.
