We offer a child's alphabet plate decorated with a scene from "Robinson Crusoe" titled "Crusoe Rescues Friday". The decoration is in brown transfer with hand coloring. Letters from the alphabet surround the border.
The plate was crafted by Brownhills Pottery Co. in Tunstall, Staffordshire, England and is stamped with the English registry mark "Rd. No. 69963" over "B.P.Co." which dates the plate from 1887 to 1890.
The plate measures 7 3/8" in diameter and 3/4 in height. The plate shows stilt marks on the front and reverse.
The plate is in very good vintage condition with appropriate age crazing. There are no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs.
