Hook and loop cinch straps are very common straps. On one end of the strap is a rectangular ring, then there is a length of the soft loop tape and at the other end, a short length of the scratchy hook tape. To use the strap, you wrap it round the objects(s) to be secured, then feed the hook tape through the ring and fold back to secure. The length is adjustable to an extent. The actual length of the strap cannot be adjusted by cutting, for example, but you can pull the strap through the ring to make it shorter. If a strap is too short, two straps can be joined together to make a longer one.

These straps have many uses. For example, cables can be tidied up in the house, bike locks can be readily attached to bicycles, boxes kept closed, canes gathered up neatly, etc. These are invaluable products to have around the house.
