Coolmax is a specifically engineered fabric which is created from a blend of Polyester fibres. Designed to improve breathability compared with natural fibres.
A trademark of Invista (the world’s largest integrated fibre, resin and intermediates company), CoolMax was developed in 1986 by DuPont Textiles & Interiors (now Invista).
The CoolMax fabric was originally designed for clothing which would be used during extreme physical exercise but can now be found in an array of other different garments and products.
Mixed with materials like Cotton, Spandex, Tencel and Wool, the CoolMax fabric can be combined to produce clothing for mountain climbing, sportswear and underwear and recently, seeped it’s way into the casual street wear and bedding market too.
HOW DOES COOLMAX WORK ?
Unlike other fibres, CoolMax fibres aren’t round. They’re slightly oblong shaped in cross-section with grooves running lengthwise along the threads.
Manufactured in a tetrachannel or hexachannel style allows moisture/liquid to be drawn away quickly from the skin. The moisture wicks through the fabric via these channels and out to a wider surface area for a greater evaporation rate.
Keeping your feet feeling cool, dry and fresher for longer.
