On offer today is a beautiful genuine Sheffield Sterling Silver Handled Letter Opener which bears the Dedham pattern, an absolutely sensational design. The piece has a genuine steel blade which has a mirrored finish.
The handle is fully hallmarked with the letter d for 1921 along with the Lion Passant, Crown and the Makers mark which is W&H - the Makers Mark for the highly sought after Walker & Hall. The Silver handle on this particular letter opener is in great condition for its age as the photos reflect, a very rare and exquisite pattern. The hallmarks are deep and crisp on this piece. The letter opener is 20 cm in length and weighs 33 grammes.
The item comes complete in a suede case for yourself or as a gift.
It is a very desirable piece and would cost an awful lot of money in a retail outlet today.
