Associate Resident Program
1980

We offer one of the posters created by Gene Bernard Davis, American (1920-1985) to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Smithsonian Associate Resident Program in 1980. He was commissioned to create the 1975 10th anniversary poster and the 1985 20th anniversary poster which was completed posthumously and signed by his widow.
The poster is a fifteen color silkscreen on wove paper and has been signed in pencil on the lower right corner with the artist's first initial "G". We have included an image of a "Gene Davis" signature to show how the letter "G" matches the artist's hand.
The poster is rolled sideways and does not currently lay flat.
The poster will be shipped in a tube.
The paper dimensions are 30" x 26" and the image dimensions are 26 1/2" x 24".
The poster is in very good vintage condition with vivid coloration to the stripes. There is a tear to the paper margin on the lower left side as shown in the photographs.

He had over 100 one-man shows and while he worked in many styles and media, including collage and photography, his multi-color vertical stripe paintings continue to be the most sought after.
