	ITEM DESCRIPTION: Here is a Beautiful OOP (Out-of-Print) Vintage Mid Century 1943 Color Collotype Lithograph of a Two Ballet Dancers with Ballerinas in Background titled, “Sur la pointe, The Sugar Plum Fairy (From the Nutcracker Suite)”, from the original pastel drawing by the well known listed painter & professional fencer ‘August von Munchhausen’ (American, July 16, 1908-January 5, 1998), whose printed signature, ‘A. von Munchhausen’, appears lower right in the image corner and who was the artist for the famous ‘Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo’ touring company and ballet school (1932-1967) located at 36 West 44th Street in New York City where he sketched the ballet dancers from life, and also had his drawings published in some of their various dance programs in addition to the many lithographs published from his original drawings during that time.We currently have another similar Collotype of Ballet Dancers from the “Nutcracker Suite” by Munchhausen listed, so please have a look! Publisher & Print Info: The publisher info, ‘Copyright New York Graphic Society, Fine Art Publishers’, appears printed in script lower left in the outer margin area just below the image and the title along with the artist’s printed name appears lower middle in script as well, and ‘Printed in the U.S.A.’, appears printed lower right respectively. The inventory number, ‘5704’ (simply 704 according to original 1943 copyright info), appears printed upper right in the outer margin corner just above the image, and the publisher’s printed copyright & initials, ‘© N.Y.G.S.’, appears printed lower left in the image corner. The Collotype was published March 19, 1943 by the NYGS along with another piece titled “En presentation” from the same series of the “Nutcracker Suite”, and when the copyright expired, the NYGS renewed it on January 25, 1971, but it is ‘Out-of-Print’ with the New York Graphic Society (Now Lieberman’s as of 2005-Present). The Collotype is on a nice medium-heavier weight cream-colored wove paper stock. Size & Condition: The size with wide margins is 25-1/16” x 19-15/16”, Image size is 20” x 16”. The Print is in Excellent Rare+ condition for its vintage age with absolutely no color fade—in comparison to other UV faded examples of this print (or the set) being sold online—with some even listing/selling the set (or individually) as original signed pastels which is simply not the case. This Print has been tucked away in our archive amongst other prints & lithos since it was purchased by the Meibohm family and hasn’t seen the light of day in all this time—it’s as beautiful as the day it was printed and is as ‘Mint’ as any collector could hope to find in its original never-framed condition. Simply beautiful! No Tears! Extremely minimal (maybe a dozen, if that) of tiny & very faint foxing specks scattered here & there as barely noticed in the outer margin areas which are basically negligible and aren’t even really worth mentioning (none noticeable in image area). Extremely minimal small & very slight crescent-creases here & there in the image area which aren’t even noticeable either (except mostly from behind) and aren’t worth mentioning either. Other minimal & slight creasing here & there in the outer margin areas and a couple outer margin corners, as well as extremely minimal & slight outer margin edge-wear with some dents & dings here & there—all of which are completely negligible since the margins can easily be trimmed off or matted & framed out. Negligible toning of the stock from age which isn’t even noticeable amidst the cream color of the paper stock itself. This beautiful vintage collotype litho has never been framed which is always more desirable to collectors since it has never been exposed to older non-archival materials, matburn or lightfade.
