About 20 years ago I was a partner in an electroplating company.  Our company was still using a gigantic 6000 ampere DC motor generator to supply one of our barrel plating lines.  We decided to take the 1910 vintage 6000 amp DC generator out of service and replace it with conventional plating rectifiers due to the electricity we would save.  This 1500 amp meter shunt was installed in the buss bars that were supplied by the DC generator to monitor the current draw on a barrel plating line.  During the dismantling of the generator I salvaged this shunt. Composed almost entirely of solid machined brass, this shunt weighs in at 10 pounds.  Brass has some tarnish and could use some cleaning.

The shunt is rated at 1500 amps at a voltage drop of 51 milivolts. Use of this shunt may require the use of a calibration resistor in series with a 50MV ammeter.

Thanks for looking!!
