Title: Ca. 1900 photograph of an elevated train in a cityscape, likely taken from the moving train, with horse-drawn carriages at street level
Publication: (New York?): (undated, ca. 1900)

Description: Small mounted photograph, measuring just shy of 3.5" x 3.5", laid onto a contemporary mount, measuring 5" x 5". Mount just a tinge curled, but the image well-preserved, in near fine condition. Two places of sticker removal on verso. On the rear is printed "Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester, NY." The image depicts an elevated train in a city environment, rounding a corner above a street with several horse-drawn carriages. With no cars and no very tall buildings, we would date the photograph to about 1900. The right third of the image is a blurry wall/window frame, which appears to indicate that the image was taken from the moving train as it rounded the corner. A nice image of city life at the turn of the century. Near fine.
