Voice coil is made of Aluminum coil DCR 12.5 ohm.( norminal 16 ohm) for HiFi amp/speaker system.
Diaphragms are exact replica of the original Altec 284/287 drivers.
Also fit to Altec 288,290,291.

Originally We have Altec 284 field drivers, but it has a big screw type adapter which we can not connect it to the Altec horns.
We adapt the 287 driver: as shown here in Angels Western Sound system to make it to use with Altec horns.
In the mean time, We design an adapter for Any Western 555 driver horn.(Please see the picture).
Original field coil is hair thin: due to the tube power supply, it has to be for the high DC voltage using...220+ DCV.
WE use thicker coil to prevent burn out of the coil like old 287/284 drivers.
Voltage we can use is 10 VDC.
However we have same Gauss: Magnetic strength.

We even made the terminal same as original.
You may use with any Altec horns or Western Electric horns where WE555 driver use.
In case you would use with WE horns, you need to buy the adapter for WE555 and it will cost $150. for a pair( please see the picture).
