Oriental Antiques from Collector to Collector

Description:

This is a very rare and important pair of Chinese cloisonne meiping from 17thC, late Ming dynasty to Qing transitional, Kangxi period.

They're large 13"H with impressive enamel colors depicting scrolling Lotus vines, a classic Ming period style.  There're four red Ruyi shaped leaflets that cover the shoulder, which is often seen on Chinese export ware during transitional Kangxi period.

The slender base of these Meiping makes the vase easy to be knocked over, thus the previous owner has custom made heavy gilt bronze base to complement the vases.  They give the vase a broader base and lower center of gravity.  They also give the vases more curve and they display very nicely.

Additional photos are below.
